Xian - being watched by 6000 soldiers

We took an early flight in the morning from guilin to xian. these were Leas last 2 days and we had a strict schedule to see the famous terracotta soldiers and visit the city of xian. Unfortunately, our plan was destroyed by china eastern airlines. When we arrived in our apartement in xian, we realized that Toms backpack was totally ripped open and half broke. It was so destroyed that he couldn't use it anymore. He didn't see it at the airport because we used a trolley for our baggage and put it in a taxi after. So we couldn't go back an blame the airline. Luckly, the two woman who rented the apartement were so nice and brought us to a tailer, who fixed the backpack pretty well for 2(!!) euros. The whole procedure cost us the whole afternoon so we had just little time left for xian.

Xian has a cute old town, protected by an old city wall. It is very touristy and the most famous street is a Muslim street, where the Muslim population of the city is selling food and souvenirs. Xian is famous for delicious noodles of all kind, so we got to try a couple different ones.

The reason why we came to Xian was the Terracotta Army. It was very, very impressive to see all these terracotta soldiers standing there with there horses, being more than 2000 years old. Every soldiers looks different and it's just a very weird feeling walking around there and wondering why someone would ever build all this and cover it up forever. There were so many questions we asked ourselves while walking around there. We were all totally impressed and agreed that it's worth seeing it in year live, seeing it in pictures does not resemble the impression and the whole feeling of seeing this '8 worldwonder'.
